Recently, with the assistance of funding from DEEP, Springboard worked with an experimental arts organisation called Arthur and Martha. This helped members of the group “tell” some of their story. Springboard provides a safe, separate space for conversations to help this happen. People with a diagnosis of dementia who wanted to join came to a series of experimental art and poetry-based activities where participants were helped to speak, write and draw. They went away with something they could keep for themselves and possibly to share with others and the results were also used to promote an anti-stigma message about dementia in the town of Oldham through a small exhibition of the work produced.
